Teaching a Dog Manners

Among dogs there is one very important rule, it's the base of good dog mannersand that is: no jumping on adult dogs. If dog jumping is jumping on other on-leash dogs he is doing something very disliked by the other dogs and will be come the target for aggression. If attacked often enough your dog will learn to become defensive around other dogs and therefore aggressive himself. You the dog's owners are ultimately responsible for the actions of your dog while on his leash. Having this responsibility means that you must make sure to have appropriate control over your dog and manage him well around other dogs. As your dog becomes better trained and mannered he will be more readily welcomed by both people and other dogs.

As the head halter prevents your dog from jumping and pulling it can be a very useful tool in helping your dog learn good leash manners.
