Dog liver rolls recipeLiver has been considered a very basic part of a dog's diet for a long time now. There are some nutritional experts however, who are worried that liver may actually harm a dog if eaten in excess because of the toxic residues that accumulates in the organ. However, it should be included in moderation in your dogs diet. Ingredients Filling: 1½ cups cooked liver, diced (chicken, or beef) 1½ small baby cabbage , cut in half ¾ cup heavy cream 2 tablespoons parsley ¾ cup bread crumbs Salt Ground black pepper Dough: 1½ cups flour 1½ teaspoons baking powder Pinch of salt 2½ tablespoons non salted butter ¾ cup milk (cold) Start with the filling by putting the chopped livers into a blender or food processor and blend. Next, add in the baby cabbage, cream, parsley, bread crumbs, and salt and pepper to taste. Blend until the mixture is spread able in consistency. Preheat oven to 230 C. and grease a big baking pan. In order to prepare the dough, sift the flour, baking powder, and salt into a mixing bowl. Cut the butter with a butter knife. Add the milk in to make it all into a soft dough. Place the prepared dough on a lightly floured surface and roll it out into 2, big squares. Spread the liver pate over the dough and roll it up. Cut the liver roll into small diagonal slices, and put the 3 cm away from each other on the baking pan. Bake for 10 – 15 minutes. Makes 12 – 18 rolls. Next: Couscous and chicken liver for dogs |
