Dog Lasagna Recipe
Ingredients
1 cup of low fat cottage cheese
10 ounces of fresh spinach, chopped
12 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
1 and ½ cups of home made chicken broth
¼ cup of grated carrots
½ cup of grated zucchini
½ teaspoon of oregano, dried
1 tablespoon of fresh parsley, chopped finely
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F. Oil a 9 X 13 inch baking pan with vegetable oil.
- Put the spinach and the cottage cheese in a bowl and mix together. Then spread some of the mixture on each one of the noodles and roll them up. Put the rolls on the baking pan with the seam side down and then set on the side.
- In a pot mix the flour and chicken broth until it acquires a smooth consistency. Cook it over low heat while constantly stirring and until it thickens a little. Then add in the carrots, zucchini, oregano and parsley.
- Once the sauce is done pour it over the noodles and put the baking pan in the oven, cover it with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.
- When the lasagna is ready allow it to cool to normal temperature before serving it out.
Store leftovers in the refrigerator in an airtight container for no more than 3 days.
Serves 12 lasagna rolls.
Dogs and Pick Ups
Never under any circumstances attempt to transport a dog in the back of a pick up truck! If your dear dog must ride in the back of a pick up truck though, make sure to use a very strong and heavy-duty dog crate that is attached very securely to the truck. The reasons for not taking a dog in the back of a pick up are so obvious we don't even have to mention them.
