I was looking for a dog kennel for sale but wasn't sure of what exactly to be searching for, what is important and what isn't when buying a dog kennel.

So I did some research and came up with what I consider to be a comprehensive list of the important things to look for when searching for a dog kennel for sale.

The first thing is to look at what kind of dog you have and its size. Is your dog little and lazy or is it big and energetic. This of course will primarily affect the size of the dog kennel that you purchase. There are many different sizes of kennels available, with average panel heights ranging from 3 ft to 7ft and it is even possible to find more.
The purpose of getting a high-sided kennel is both to keep your dog safety inside and to keep unwelcome intruders outside, whether they are other dogs or wild animals.

The larger the kennel the more room your dog will have to move around in, however the kennel is no substitute for time out walking and running and if you expect your dog to get its exercise inside of the kennel then you are seriously mistaken. Also if you have a small yard or only have a deck or patio then you will have to get a smaller sized kennel for your dog.
Now that you know the basic size and height that you want you need to look at a couple other very important factors. Will the kennel be exposed to the elements or will you be setting it up under shelter? If it will be out in the open then you definitely want to get a weather guard cover to put over the top of it. Most kennel manufactures and online pet stores sell the cover with the kennel and this is the recommended way to get it. Last but not least make sure that any outdoor dog kennel for sale is rust protected or else you will be in for a world of problems.
