Owning a Dog in a big city
Dog enemies want to prohibit them in big cities, base themselves in two arguments:
- you shouldn't force dogs to live in the big city;
- dogs and their excrement constitute a big danger to health.
Both are weak arguments and mostly exaggerated. According to veterinarians' polls, dogs in large cities are not more sick than dogs in small towns or in the country. It's true that due to limited space for walks, the city isn't the best for dogs but neither is it for men. Throughout it's history dog has shown that it's an animal of great adaptability and has also gotten used to urban life, especially if it's with people it really likes.
