Dog House Floor Plan -Laying the Floor Step 02
Laying the Floor
Materials:
3' x 6" x 2" CEDAR WOOD DECKING (91.40cm x 15.20cm x 5.10)
or
3' x 4'10" x 2" EXTERIOR GRADE PLYWOOD (91.40cm x 147.30cm x 5.10cm)
or
3' x 6" x 2" PINE DECKING (91.40cm x 15.20cm x 5.10)
In the sample dog house shown in the drawing, I used exterior grade plywood for the flooring, as it is quite economical.
However, I think cedar would look fantastic, especially once you get a coat of gloss on to it. They can be cut together easily and are quite inexpensive.
NE
VER use pressure treated cedar plywood for the walls or roof, since hey are treated with certain preservatives which may be toxic for your dog.
1. Secure the plywood or flooring to your base using wooden screws.
Fasten along the base beams and end joists.
dog house Floor Tip: If you decide in screwing the center joist, make sure they are all the way in, so that a flush surface may be maintained on the floor. A small screw sticking out can catch on to your dog's hair or paw. Here I chose to not use any screws on the center joist.
