Dog Field Training

Its formed by the union of 2 similar slanted ramps. In dog field training for competitions they must form a 90 degree angle and have its highest point at 190 cm from the ground. In the garden we conform are selves with the lowest total height.Recommendations: in the learning phase, the ramps must have a very low pronounced slant angle. Place traversal listons (5-10 cm wide) 25 cm of each other, to facilitate going up and coming down the ramps. Protect them with rubber strips to avoid the dog from getting hurt.

Learning phase: the slanted plane is an obstacle that your supposed to pass it walking, and not jump it. Put a leash around the dog and walk him through the ramps one by one so he familiarizes himself with them. You have to avoid the dog from jumping off the boards (if needed have someone else on the other side protecting it), or turning around and heading back.

Slalom training: The slalom is route taken with bars (5 to start with, they can be wooden sticks or thin plastic sticks), that get stabbed into the floor in a way that they don't fall when bumped into them.

Learning phase: Place in a straight row some bars very separate from each other (distance from one to another: the length of the dog). Direct the dog using the leash in a vertical position. Indicate the change of directions with a pull at the leash or use a candy. The slalom demands a high degree of cooperation from the dog, because he would rather pass through this piece of the track in a straight line. Practice with the leash again if he takes attempts to take shortcuts after the training phase.

Seesaw: The construction of a seesaw is hard work. A practical alternative: accustom the dog to being on a board that's constantly moving since it on top of a roll of wood. The movement effect gets determined by the diameter of the wooden roll.

Learning phase: place the leash on the dog and take him towards the point of the overturn.

Length Jumping training
Easily made obstacle: place the edge of a maximum 5 boards (15 cm thick) on the grass, one following the other each at same distance. Elevate another 10 cm the last board of the obstacle. Maximum Length: 150 cm. the highest point must be at 25 cm.

Learning phase: begin the exercises with 3 boards and accommodate the length of the obstacle in coordination with the size of the dog. Place the collar on him, pull him towards the obstacle and make him jump with a slight pull and <jump!>.command

Important: the dog wont carry a collar when he has to grab obstacles while he is walking, to avoid getting hurt. To train dogs with leash we recommend the leashes that can be taken off easily with small maneuver.

Note: control each little thing of your dog especially the nails, to avoid them getting stuck in any obstacles.

Important for Athletics: If you want your dog to participate in agility competitions, you'll have to train him in your obstacle race track, not caring that they have an improvisation mood, according to the official rules of the specialty.
