Dog Ear Hematoma (Blood Clot) in the Dog Ear

All of a sudden, the ear swells up and seems to be full of liquid. Dog ear hematoma is particularly common in big-eared breeds after an unimportant fight or an accidental bump while shaking their head. The cause is usually a hemorrhage produced by the injury of a blood tissue in the ear, although the skin itself is intact. There is really not much direct danger, but it is unpleasant. If the dog is not submitted to a treatment, his ear might end up looking marred.Important: Wait at least one week before going to the veterinarian; the hemorrhage will have stopped, without a doubt. The remedy consists of a minor operation, with a couple of stitches and a simple bandage.
