Dog Cookie Treat Balls Recipe
Ingredients
½ tablespoon of active dry yeast
1 tablespoon of warm water
1 and ½ tablespoons of honey
2 cups of unbleached all-purpose flour
1 cup of whole wheat flour
½ cup of soy flour
¼ cup of graham flour
¼ cup of nonfat dry milk
2 tablespoons of kelp powder
2 and ½ cups of chicken broth, or as much as needed
Preparation
- Use a small bowl to mix the yeast, water and honey and then allow it to sit for 10 minutes.
- Place the oven rack in the center of the oven and pre heat the oven to 350 degrees F. Place 1 slightly greased baking sheet on the side.
- Use a large bowl along with a wire whisk to mix the all purpose flour, the whole wheat flour, the soy flour, the graham flour, the dry milk, and the kelp powder together.
- Next open a hole in the center of the flour mixture and pour in the yeast mixture along with the chicken broth and blend it in together until it becomes a smooth dough and pulls away from the edges of the bowl. If the preparation seems to be a bit dry just add in a bit more chicken broth.
- Break off small pieces from the dough and form them into little marble size balls. Roll them in between your floured hands.
- Put the floured balls over the prepared baking sheet and bake them for approximately 18 to 20 minutes or until you notice the have acquires a brown color and look dry. Then take them out of the oven and allow them to cool over a wire rack.
- Store the cookie treat balls in a loosely covered container.
