Dog Constipation

Dog Constipation

As a responsible dog owner that you are (or are hoping to be), you should definitely pay attention to your loved one's defecation.

A normal defecation comes out wit no problems and is hotdog-shaped. If he has to make a lot of effort and only ejects a couple of balls, it is a sign that he's constipated.

You should ask yourself what you're feeding your dog. Where's the mistake? Has he eaten a large amount of soft bones? Has the food been too dry? If, in spite of everything he is able to defecate, I wouldn't administer any laxative nor apply an enema.

If the cause has been the food itself, the mistake should be corrected by changing your dog's diet.

Canned foods are usually light laxatives, as are raw meat, raw liver, raw eggs, milk and all dairy products.
