Dog Collar Training

Dog Collar Training

When your dog is two months old, get it a training collar so it gets used to wearing one. At the beginning, the dog will scratch his neck and try to take the collar off. It is a normal reaction. For it not to turn out to be traumatic, we can let the dog wear the training collar for a couple of hours first. Then for a little bit more. The time will increase steadily every day, until the dog is adapted top the training collar. You can then teach the dog to walk around the house with a dog leash.

The dog has to be always at your left side. When the vet says so, you can take it to the street. When this happens, you have to make sure you teach it not to be afraid of the lights and the noise. It is useful to show the dog were these come from. For example, if a dog is afraid of motorcycles, you can take it to the house of a friend who has one. That way, motorcycles will become familiar to your pet. When a dog has learnt all of these, it is ready to start practicing agility. First day of training will not be easy neither for the dog, nor for the owner. Training and effort will be essential for succeeding, as in any aspect of life. Do not fell discouraged if your first practice is a disaster. The important thing for the first day is that your dog enjoys itself and overcomes the fear of getting on the different obstacles and jumping off them. With time, results will be better. First thing we have to do is, then, not lose our will to improve and have as much fun as possible.
