Dog beany liver casserole recipeDid you know? There is a theory that says that feeding millet to a dog helps repel fleas because this vitamin contains an active agent against them. Whether this is true or not, we don't know, but what is true is that millet is a grain that is packed with vitamin B. When you buy dog food at the stores, vitamin B is often lost in these products due to heat and storage.Ingredients 230 grams beef liver, chopped in bite size pieces Flour Ground black pepper ½ cup cooked kidney beans ½ baby cabbage, chopped ½ cup green beans, diced ½ carrot, chopped ½ cup millet 1½ cups dog broth (see directions for preparation) BreadPreheat the oven to 175 C. and grease a casserole. Pat the liver onto the flour and then sprinkle it with pepper. Put the liver and the kidney beans in the prepared casserole. Spread the baby cabbage, green beans, and carrot over the liver and beans. Sprinkle the millet over it all and pour in enough dog broth in order to cover all the ingredients. Cover the casserole and bake for about 1 hour. Be checking on it occasionally to see that the liquid has not evaporated. Add dog broth or water as necessary. Serve warm over chunks of bread. Makes 1 liter. |
