Dog "Fetch" practice and "Stay"

Dog "Fetch" practice and "Stay". In this practice the dogs receive the order to "Sit" in a line, one next to the other. The dog trainers stand at about thirty feet away from their dogs. The first dog trainer throws the object at about fifteen feet from his dog. The dog must remain sitting, until his dog trainer call him. While the dog goes toward his dog trainer, he has to pick up the object and bring it to his dog trainer. During all of this, the rest of the dogs must remain sitting in their places.

Dog watch and "Stay" practice. All the dogs must be sitting in a line, one next to the other, and the dog trainers need to be standing about six or nine feet behind their dogs. The first dog trainer throws the object over the dog or right next to the dog. After this, the dog trainer himself goes and fetches it, while the dog remains sitting.

Dog "Fetch" practice over his head. The dogs must be sitting in a line, one next to the other, and the dog trainers stand about six or nine feet behind their dogs. One of the dog trainers throws the object above the dog or next to the dog. Then the dog trainer goes toward his dog and gives him the order to "Fetch". As the dog goes out of the line, he needs to turn around.

Dog "Fetch" practice in a line. All of the dog trainers stand in a line and start walking in the same direction forward when the course instructor gives the order. The course instructor will be standing in a line laterally about sixty feet away from the teams and then walk forward at the same distance. The course instructor must have the same amount of objects as there are dogs. When the course instructor gives the order, the line stops and the dogs sit. The course instructor gets the dogs attention, throws the object in front of the dog's eyes and calls on one of them to get it. As soon as the dog has picked it up, and given the object to his dog trainer, the dog must then go back to his place and the next dog follows. It's easier to call the dog from the order they are standing in, rather than calling them by their names. Dogs that have a hard time remaining still, need to be kept on a leash to do this practice.
