Custom dog run

A really nice custom dog run that I saw the other day was built especially for a dog and a cat. Although I have seen dog and cat houses I had never seen a dog and cat run before.

nd dog know each other well and have had a long friendship together then it could work. Still there are some precautions that should be taken to avoid undue stress on the part of either the dog or cat. It is best for example to keep the cat's house up high on a perch and let it eat there as well.

By giving the cat a place up high its food is out of the reach of the dog and gives the cat a place where it feels safe and secure and where it can go if the dog is being overly threatening.
If you plan to use a dog run for both a dog and cat it is vital that the spacing in the wire mesh fence is not too large or the cat could become caught in it resulting in your cat becoming injured.

It is also very important that dogs and cats living in runs have adequate bathroom facilities and remember that the necessities of a cat are not identical to those of a dog. There are some nasty diseases that can be transferred between cats and dogs so be sure that all your pets have had there vaccinations and get regular checkups from their veterinarian.
