Corn Dogs for Dogs Recipe
Ingredients
½ cup of whole-wheat flour
½ cup of yellow cornmeal
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 egg
½ cup of milk
½ cup of bacon drippings
2 frankfurters, each chopped into 10 slices
Preparation
- Place the oven rack in the center of the oven and then preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 12-cup muffin pan lightly with vegetable oil.
- Use a large bowl and a metal whisk to mix the whole wheat flour, the cornmeal and the baking powder together.
- Next, blend both the dry and wet preparation together with a spoon or use your hand until the ingredients become moistened.
- Drop a small teaspoon amount of the preparation onto the top of the already prepared muffin pan and press a slice of the frankfurter into the center of it, the cover it with an additional teaspoon amount of the mixture again.
- Bake the corn dogs for around 15 to 20 minutes or until you notice the tops look golden brown and when a wooden pick is inserted in the corn dog, it comes out clean. Once they are done, take them out of the oven and allow them to cool over a wire rack. Once they have cooled remove the corn dogs and then store them in the refrigerator.
