Controlling Dog Barking
Some breeds have a tendency to bark a lot. This is usually done to protect their owner, however this must be controlled. Yelling at a dog to "be quiet" can just get him more excited. There are many methods on how to avoid a dog from barking so much; one effective way is by spraying his mouth with a non toxic aerosol spray that has a bad taste. If you are interested in training him to stop barking, regularly practice giving him the order to "speak" whenever he begins barking. Then tell him "quiet" or "no" so that he quiets down. This kind of training will teach a dog to "talk" (bark) and then "quiet" so that he stops at your order.
