Cleaning Dogs Tooth

Cleaning Dog Teeth

It is fundamental and extremely important to take proper care of your dog's teeth. Feeding your dog dry dog food, rawhide bones etc, are all different things that can help to prevent tartar and that will help to keep your dog's teeth healthy. Smaller dogs teeth often times are more prone to forming tartar. There are also different types of dog toothpaste that can be used and should be used to brush your dog's teeth. This toothpaste is used on the dog with a special dog toothbrush. There are also other compressed or spray products that can be used to make cleaning more effective. Tartar can only be

removed from a dog's teeth if it is taken care of from the moment the dog is still a puppy. This is actually done by not allowing tartar to form at all on his teeth.

You can also use a special metal and pointy instrument to get rid of the plaque or tartar that accumulates on the top and bottom of the dog's teeth. Make sure to be very careful though when doing this to not get too close to the dog's gums so as to not hurt him. Obviously for a dog to sit still and be willing to go through this, it will be necessary to train him to cooperate from the moment he is still a puppy; trying to do this to an adult dog that has no training whatsoever in this aspect is very difficult. You should try to clean your dog's teeth about two times a week with dog toothpaste and a dog toothbrush that has soft bristles. Make sure to never use human toothpaste on a dog's teeth as it can cause the dog to have stomach problems.
