Classical Dog Behavior Conditioning
Classical dog behavior conditioning is associating the "bad stuff" with the "good stuff", in other words when something bad happens to your dog like hearing loud lightening, do something good like throwing snacks around for him to eat or playing a game he loves. Once the "bad" is over, away go all the treats, snacks and attention from your part. This method seems to work very well with dogs who have phobias and who are afraid of loud noises. Of course, it will take its time as it can often times be difficult to distract your dog from something that he is afraid of, therefore consistency is the trick to achieving this goal.
