Choosing a dog diet

How to Choose a Dog diet

The easiest way to feed the puppy in a balanced matter is giving it a quality, commercial meal formulated especially for puppies. The recommendations of the producer, that appear labeled in the bag, include the quantity of food that needs to be given to the dog according to its age, weight and breed. There are puppies that eat a lot that don't miss any chance to fill their stomachs whenever they can, and as adorable as it may seem, obesity in dogs is a very common factor of future illness. The daily food requirements vary in great measure from one dog to the next one. This way, you should keep in mind the character of your pet and the amount of exercise it does on a daily basis. If you have any further doubts, don't hesitate to contact your

veterinarian. There are two types of industrialized meals for dogs: the canned goods and the dry meals (croquettes). Some brands of canned meals for puppies contain all the necessary dietary components for a balanced diet, but for the most part, these meals need to be complemented with rice or dog crackers. The dry meals, or croquettes, instead, tends to be recommended as a complete meal with no need for additional values. Make sure the puppy has enough water nearby for both meals. The croquettes are growing in popularity within the dog owning society, since it is much easier to store and much more comfortable and easy to use. Some people prefer giving home cooked meals, or leftovers, to their dogs. It is extremely important that a dog in their development stage, is fed in the most nutritional manner possible, consuming the adequate amounts of proteins (meat, fish and/or eggs), and carbohydrates.  Add vegetables to the home cooked meal and a supplement of vitamins and minerals available at any pet store nearby. Puppies, in general, can have dairy products; however, whole milk can induce diarrhea. When dogs try home meals, it is difficult to change their eating habits and introduce them to industrialized meals as the ones mentioned above.
