Installing the house's Roof Frame

Materials:
4 -- 1 ½" x 3 ½" x 21 ¾" left rafters
4 -- 1 ½" x 3 ½" x 21 ¾" right rafters
1 -- 1 ½" x 3 ½" x 58" ridge board

1. When you Build your own Dog House you must place the ridge board between the grooves in the front and back plywood panels.

2 Cut the left and right rafters as like is shown in diagram 08. Cut eight rafters as per these measurements (4 for the left side and 4 for the right side).
The top end of the rafter needs to be cut 2 ¼" in to produce the right angle so it is evenly with the ridge board.
The bottom of the rafter needs to be cut 3" in and 2" up on the bottom side,1" in and 1 ½" down on the upper side (see diagram 08).

3. Attach the end rafters first; they must be perfectly even with the end studs and top plates. This is because you will need a perfect vertical slant when installing the roof panels. Attach rafters with long wood screws.
The middle rafters need to be spaced evenly between the end rafters, two on each side.
Secure the middle rafters 19" from the end rafters and attach them with screws.
Once you finish it should look a lot like photo 07B below.
