Boxer

An intrepid defender and protector. Always willing to play, even at an advanced age.

Height, weight: the male; from 57 to 63 cm high, the female; 53 cm. or higher; both, around 30 kg. Bony, squared-shape body.

Fur, color: short and shiny, rough and very stuck to its body. From a tawny dark red to a more yellow color. The favorite ones are usually the shaded or striped ones. Usually black around the nose area.
Appropriate for: families that love sports, also good for children who live in spacious places, for it to run around.

Not Appropriate for: people with delicate and weak figures, for sedentary or elderly people.

As a member of the family: good watch dogs, and are excellent domestic dogs. Friendly with children. A friendly neighbor, but is also very temperamental.

Breed's character: robust, intelligent, easily to handle if its been given a good training. Temperamental and brave. Loves praises and flattering. Does not necessarily adapt well to other dogs.

Common sicknesses: arthritis in the backbone at an old age. From when its 8 years on, has a greater tendency of getting cancer, than any other dog. It gets allergies and also has the tendency hip disorders. 

Life expectancy: up to 10 years.
