Biscotti Dog Bites Recipes
Ingredients
2 and ½ cups of all purpose flour
2 teaspoons of baking powder
3 tablespoons of canola oil
6 tablespoons of honey
2 eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
¼ cup of peanuts, unsalted and chopped
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Oil a baking sheet with vegetable oil.
- Mix the flour and the baking powder in a big bowl and set it on the side. In a different bowl mix together the canola oil, and honey with a whisk until it is well homogenized. Then add in the eggs, one by one, and then the vanilla extract and stir until it has combined well. Add the wet ingredients into the flour mixture and stir until you acquire a smooth dough. Them mix in the chopped peanuts.
- Separate the dough into half and shape each one into a log shape about 12 inches long and 4 inches in width.
- Place them over the baking sheet and bake them for around 15 minutes or until they are golden brown.
- Once they are baked, place them over a cutting board and allow them to cool for about 5 minutes. Then slice them at a 45 degree angle about ½ an inch in thickness. Place the cut slices on the baking sheet and then bake again for another 12 to 15 minutes so they dry a little.
- Place the baked biscotti over a wire rack and allow them to cool completely before serving out.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for no more than one week. Otherwise wrap well in freezer wrap and store in the freezer for up to 2 months.
Serves 4 dozen biscotti dog bites.
