 | Assembling a Dog HouseOnce you have everything cut and measured, you can begin putting everything together and actually build a dog house, we begin with the basic four walls and then build on that base. |
- Secure the front and back panels to the side ones; have the front and back panels overlap the ends on the side panels. Use the moisture resistant glue on the on the sides and hold it together with clamps. (Tip: If you don't have wood clamps available, you can simply use duct tape to hold the panels in place until the glue dries).
Drill holes on the front and back into the ends of the side panels, secure them with the 2 in screws. - Installing the floor:
All around the structure draw a line 3 in from the bottom. This line is where the floor will be placed and should be leveled with the bottom of the door. Fit it into place and secure with screws on the sides, front and back. (See picture) - Securing the internal divider:
Measure the exact middle on the front and back panels and draw a line, which is where the internal divider is going to be attached. It should be 20 in from each side. Slide the divider in position, placing the door opening towards the back part of the house (see picture). Fasten using 2 in screws, from the front, back and bottom, you can also choose to add a little glue on the sides before you slide it in and screw in place. - Attaching internal brace:
Make sure the top brace doesn't go over the front panels and rests flush over the internal divider. Secure using 2 in screws, first directly to the divider and then from the front and back.
