Are fleas harmful for dogs?
Yes. Even in slight cases, their presence cannot only leave marks, but also great irritations that induce the dog to bite himself. In some cases, dogs become allergic to the fleas saliva that is injected in very little amounts when they bite. There are also several diseases and canine parasites that can be transmitted through fleas, including the Dipylidium caninum tapeworm. Puppies that have been bitten by fleas can suffer from anemia.
