Another dog's arrival

Another Dog Arrival.
Getting a second dog Puppy Birth.

Most of the people like to have more than one dog at home. Getting a second dog makes for decision relatively simple: if you have enough space, your budget allows it, and the rest of the family agrees with this idea, then the issue is apparently solved. However, you must also think about the possible reactions of the dog you already have. Before taking a step this important, you'll have to give some thought on which breed is best. What kind of dog will get along with mine?, Should I get a similar dog, of the same age, or maybe the opposite, one that is completely different and younger or older?

If both the dogs are pups, problems are not likely. Growing together and in the same environment, they will slowly define hierarchy through games (not fights), and one of them will have to accept the submission part. If they aren't the same gender and you do not wish them to mate, then you should have one of them neutered. If the dog is an adult and you bring a pup home, you mustn't spoil or privilege any of them, or make any obvious difference. Adults usually welcome pups, as they see them as play-mates. Bitches can usually take them as theirs.

The opposite situation is also possible; the owner of a pup wants to take an adult home. In this case everything depends on the personality of the adult dog. If both animals are already adults with a developed personality, conflict will be avoided if they are of the same gender.

When you're dealing with two grown-up males, adaptation is not only problematic, but most of the times impossible. However, this might not be the case. Again, it all depends on the personality of the two animals. I f the relationship isn't spontaneously friendly, some serious trouble might eventually occur. If, on the contrary, one of them accepts the hierarchical superiority of the other, both will manage to live peacefully.

In the case of two bitches the situation is definitely better, although there might be little issues sometimes. Before making any decision you have to observe whether there is compatibility or not.
