Animals rescued from the dog pound or shelter

You may decide torescue a dog from a shelter, to save an abandoned animal instead of buying a puppy elsewhere. The rescued animal may be a perfect companion, but sometimes it may lead to some serious disappointments: for example, you may suddenly find conduct problems in your animal and decide that it is not fit to live with your family. Ultimately, it is really a matter of luck, but the more you know about the hazards and traps in which you may fall and how to face these, the easier it is to make the right choice. In your local shelter you may be able to find all types of dogs, from puppies to old and even sick dogs. All of which have had a past prior to being there. Some wereabandoned hen their owners faced unemployment, got divorced, moved someplace else, became ill or eventually died. In some other cases, the dog itself was the one that fell sick or caused allergic reactions in some family member of the previous owner. Some dogs have been beaten, not taken care of or chained during extensive periods of time. The most abundant dogs in these shelters are teenagers (from 6 to 9 months). Mainly abandoned because their owners didn't really consider what implications owning a dog will hold for them. When the playful puppy became a real animal, the owner lost interest or maybe found that they weren't really capable of controlling the animal. When this happens, it is probably because the family or the owner didn't choose the right kind of dog to go along with their lifestyle.
