Airedale Terrier Dog Breed Information

In passed, the Airedale Terrier used to call it the "king of the Terriers", to fight against the river otters in and out of the water.

Height: weight: 58-61 cm high; weighs, aprox. 22,5 kg. Well proportioned and quick.

Fur, color: double fur; thick and stiff hair coverage; short and soft under hair.

Appropriate for: people who want a dog that is not so complicated and that has a good guardian capacity.

Not Appropriate for: "stuck up" or weak people.

As a member of the family: Is one of the best family-dog and loves children. Good guardian; is patient and quiet.

Breed's character: bold, intrepid, intelligent, easiness to learn, appreciates the attention. Lively and playful even when old. Hard to live with other dogs and domestic animals. It came from the cross of a hunting Terrier with a hunter of small game (which is where it got its fancy for the water).

Common sicknesses: has a tendency to the eczema + to the skin tumors.

Life expectancy: up to 14 years of age.
