Administering dog ear drops

In order to administer ear drops, the dog must remain seated. The liquid flows in best towards the hearing passage if you pull the dog's ear slightly back and up. Be careful because the animal will want to shake his head! This has led to many a clothes getting dirty. So, hold the head firmly, and carefully massage the area around the ending of the ear. You will notice the gristly hearing passage located below. When done correctly, this massage is very pleasant for the dog. If he later scratches himself with his hind paws, he's trying to say he's ok.
