A dog as therapy for handicapped children
Something not very useful for a normal child can be necessary therapy for a handicapped child. Data collected in England and in the United States about these experiences is very positive. Through physical contact, psychologically challenged children can establish a spiritual connection, through which participation in an environment that seemed impossible is established. Physically challenged children demonstrate better trust in themselves and are relived of an emotional burden. The dog is a playmate who doesn't care about handicaps. It is always happy and transmits a joy of life, besides, making contact with other children easier.
