Golden Retriever Balanced Diet

Balanced Golden Retriever Diet

It's easier and safer to feed your dog balanced food. Complete meals contain all the nutrients in balanced proportions, but the offer is so vast that it kind of throws you off. Canned food consists of humid chunks of different origins (lamb, calf, birds and other mixtures). In complete meals and cans you can also find cereals and vegetables. Pay attention to the indications on the packaging: there are some meals that are only canned and others that only contain meat and additives. This canned meat has to be complemented like fresh meat with cereal or rice. There is a wider selection with dry balanced meals, which can be bought in big and small bags. Dried food does not contain water and can be served soaked or dry. But in the last case, it is

necessary to give the dog a bowl with fresh water. Dry balanced food is divided into normal food and premium. Premium food is digested better, there are less leftovers and the dogs produce immense excrement: a factor which comes in handy when you live in the city. As balanced diet seems to be less food, people tend to overfeed them, which means you have to weigh the portion well. Even though a handful may seem like a little, consider that is a highly concentrated meal, which grows in volume in the stomach, thus producing a sensation of satisfaction. Dry food is also convenient when going on vacations. You can also find semi balanced products, for example vegetable flakes, which still have to be mixed with meat. When buying them, pay attention to the manufacturer's indications.

Liquid is of Vital Importance:
There always has to be a bowl with fresh water, because your dog's need for water depends on his activities and on the temperature. The more your dog pants, the more water he needs. Sad to say he, some Golden Retrievers space tend to walk away from the bowl with their lips still dripping, leaving drops of water all over the place. A towel under the bowl can absorb some of the water. But, you will still keep on loving your Golden Retriever, even though you stepped into a puddle of water barefoot.
