Veterinarian HoustonI heard of this Houston veterinarian that also is a dog trainer. The reason that I heard of him is because a friend of mine that lives in Houston was searching for a dog trainer after acquiring a poodle puppy. Someone recommended this veterinarian there in Houston but warned my friend that not only was this vet a interesting character but his style of training, while highly effective, was quite unconventional. When you meet this guy you are almost blown away by his physical appearance and dress. It isn't that he is weird but he is short and his unkempt hair and disheveled and different manner of dress make for a combination that makes you wonder if he really is a veterinarian at all. Before this guy will begin training a dog he gets the whole household together and gives them a talk about what he will be doing and how. He also makes it very clear from the beginning that if everyone in the household is not willing to put 100% into the dogs training then it will not work and it would be better for him not to begin. Once he has everyone's word that they will give him their full cooperation he then has them bring the dog into the room. At this point he has every single person take the dog one by one and hold it in a submissive position with its four paws up in the air while on its back with the person holding its neck. Of course the dog will struggle and try to get out from this position but it eventually submits and so begins this Houston veterinarian's dog training. |
