Synthesis of processes and techniquesAvalanches, hurricanes, flooding, earthquakes, fires, structural failure, explosions etc, are all some of the causes that cause the unrelenting burying of a numerous amount of people in different parts of the world. There are many places that have been land marked as dangerous and that are at risk of earthquakes. Until recent times, the search and rescue teams faced the frustrating impotency and had grave problems finding the buried people that were still alive quick enough after a seismic occurrence. Evidently, only digging out or clearing out indiscriminately considerably reduced the possibility of saving human lives due to how slow and imprecise it was. Empiric studies that have been done in clinical investigations on survival rates after a catastrophe conclude that, in the period between an hour and one day, the number of persons alive under debris diminishes drastically to a 50 percent due to diverse causes such as cranial damage, low temperatures, dehydration, hemorrhaging etc. Because of all these very important factors, it's not difficult to see how essential and important rescue units are, and the quicker they are the better. Search and rescue dogs have made possible an increase of rescues and have proven to be one of the most effective ways of searching out for victims. |
