Getting a hold of a map of the building is very useful
Someone should remain outside near the main entrance that will be in charge of communicating with the guide and the unit Leader that are inside. The ideal is to always use the same path to get out of the area, however this is not always possible due to seismic movements that could cause exit ways to become blocked in which case a new exit will need to be found. It is very important to have a device that lets the rescuers know the levels of oxygen and combustible gases and they must always be on the lookout of the amount of dust in the area. Each person should use and have quality equipment available. The lighting team must be especially well equipped.
Propping and supporting must only and exclusively be done in vital situations and the quickest and fastest method should be used. Once a victim has been found, the rescue personnel will need to first check the victim's head and truck very carefully, and use first aid if necessary until the medics arrive to help. Each person will need to carry a canteen of water to maintain hydrated and to moisten the dog's nose so that it does not become obstructed with dust.
All of the rescue guides will need to know the marked code that is used in these types of disasters. There is a signaling system where plastic chips are used in which different types of information is given about the victims such as the amount of damage, added risk etc, and this is done through indications and specific symbols. An opaque rectangular white chip must be used of around 50 by 30 centimeters and in the middle the Civil Protection sign will be placed. If you are not able to find these chips, you can make them yourselves by making them with paint or chalk.
