Basic behavior protocol in an emergency
There are many factors that could cause a building to collapse burying the people inside such as: a power overload, fire, explosions, mistakes in the design of the building, earthquakes, etc. All of these types of catastrophes will need to be intervened with the help of a specialized group of professionals specialized in catastrophes. It is understood by building that all constructions done with materials and destined to be used for living or other uses, that a collapse can sometimes be defined by a structure that has been overcome by movement or force and that overtakes the limits the building has been built for. In the following we will give you the basic and general guidelines that the specialized SAR agencies use although all of these professionals are well aware that their mental scheme in a disaster must always remain open, flexible and predisposed to immediate improvisation.
When a specialized emergency team receives an emergency call, they will start out by doing the following:
- An emergency notice and get information of the basic data of the disaster.
- Centralization and movement of the team.
- See the disaster zone.
- Elaborate an intervention plan.
- Work out the search and rescue operations.
