We wanted to learn the basics on how to groom our dog so our veterinarian suggested we first go to a Ventura California Dog Groomer so he or she could first give us some training on how to do the job as there are a lot of very important details when it comes to grooming a dog. We were interested in first learning how to bathe our dog as it is something we figured it would be fun to do and would give us a chance to bond with our dog and participate a little on some of his basic care. However with these last points we soon realized that there is a lot more to the process then we had anticipated and kind of freaked out about it and decided we would wait a little on it and leave those things to our Ventura California Dog Groomer. In our case we have a poodle and are well aware that there are very specific steps on clipping their coats. We learned that pre clipping is done in dog's that have heavily matted coats and consists in first clipping the mats off the dog's coat first before bathing him or her. Our Ventura California Dog Groomer told us that this is done before bathing the dog so as to avoid the mats from becoming more tangled. We learned a lot but we think we are going to wait on trying to become pros just yet.
