| San Francisco Dog GroomingS ince in San Francisco, Dog Grooming is such a big thing, we decided to fill owners in on what exactly goes on with their pets when they are taken to the grooming salon. We won't be able to tell everything but this should give pet owners an idea of one process that takes place which in this case will be what procedures are taken before a dog is bathed. When a pet goes into to get groomed the first thing that happens is that a groomer reviews the dog's file cared to see if the dog needs special care. In San Francisco some Dog Grooming salons give the pets a massage to relax them. Groomers are very careful to make sure to handle special cases such as ill, older or disabled dogs very carefully. If the dog's veterinarian has prescribed a special type of treatment this will be taken care of. Usually the veterinarian will leave written instructions on what to do. A dog's collars are removed when they are getting groomed. Often times dogs come in with flea collars on and if they get wet it can be very dangerous because they become toxic. The ears of the dogs are then checked, cleaned and deodorized. Before a dog is bathed cotton balls are placed in the dogs ears to avoid water from getting in the ear canal. Then the dog's nails are clipped and the dewclaws filed down smoothly. A dogs eyes are also cleaned and any sort of encrustations around the dogs eyes are removed with warm water, sometimes groomers put a drop of sterile eye lubricant in the dog's eyes to protect their eyes from the soapy bath water. This is just a small example of what San Francisco Dog Grooming professionals do. |
