Los Angeles Dog Grooming
The Los Angeles Dog Grooming school we go to has taught us many different things about grooming dogs and pets and something very interesting that came up in our class was not only the importance of grooming and cleaning a dog's ears, but also being careful to not over do it as there are dog groomers and pet owners that over clean sensitive ears and cause irritation. The result of an irritated ear will result in redness and the dog might start scratching at his ears, which can then lead to bigger problems. A dog's ears needs to be regularly checked and cleaned and should be reasonably free of hair but it should not be overdone either. If you notice that the skin on your dog's ears becomes red or irritated by pulling on the hair make sure to only pull out a reasonable amount of hair and then ease the dog's ears with a lightly moistened cotton ball. One good aspect of cleaning a dog's ears is that you might uncover conditions that you weren't able to previously see during normal ear inspection. There have been cases where hematomas were discovered which is the swelling of an ear flap because of blood going inside the tissue or serum that accumulates under the skin. If you ever notice a problem like this make sure to inform your Los Angeles Dog Grooming centre or veterinarian so they can give the dog the appropriate check up. If you use an ear cleaning solution on a dog's ears make sure it never gets inside the dog's ear canals. Water is something that should never be used when cleaning a dog's ears as it can cause bad infections.
