| Dog Grooming School The Dog Grooming School my brother and I are going to has taught us the basics on dog grooming and we are now getting into the more detailed aspect of things. It is very interesting to learn about all the different grooming techniques that can be learned. I wasn't even aware of all the different types of breeds that existed before I got into a Dog Grooming School and about all the hair and coat types that exist. It's absolutely incredible how much there is to learn on this subject. Something I thought was interesting was when our teacher told us that dog grooming is now considered an art since there is so much involved in it and that there are many dog groomers that are now getting more into learning and identifying the medical aspects on a dog's skin to be able to refer the pet owners to their veterinarians right away before any further damage is caused on the dog's skin should this be the case. The last thing we were looking at in class was about fleas "parasites". We were told that there are some parasites on a dog's skin that does not cause problems, there are others, such as fleas that can be very annoying, and discomforting and can bring about health problems in a dog. Fleas are teensy creatures that do not have wings and adult fleas will suck blood from the dog's skin and can survive for months on the dog's skin while causing a lot of problems. Our Dog Grooming School has been teaching us about how to identify fleas on a dog's skin and what to do about them. |
