While I was in Baltimore, Dog Grooming was something that came up while talking to some dog groomers and they explained the procedures on how dog groomers do certain things such as how they dry a dog after a bath. In some places dogs are cage dried but there are places that do not agree with this method and that instead fluff dry the dog's coat with a dog blow dryer. They explained that when some dogs cannot get blow dried they cover the pet with a lot of towels to avoid them from getting cold and then put them in a holding cage. Something they mentioned was that when the dog's are getting bathed or blow dried they do not allow the pets to be too close to each other for a very obvious reason, so that they don't fight and to avoid this they don't allow the dogs to have any physical interaction. In the case of older dogs or ill dogs they have special days when they take care of these pets and bathing and drying is done in a warm place. The groomers also provide massages to the dogs to help them feel more at ease. After a dog has been bathed and fluff dried they are then put back in their cages and a clean towel is placed underneath them. If there are any types of treatments that need to be applied when bathing they make sure to follow the veterinarian's instructions on what needs to be done to the dog.
