He said that nail clipping and filling and ear cleaning are done to loosen dirt, foreign matter, ear wax etc. He said that brushing, combing and de matting is done before a dog's bath to release the dirt and dander and to prevent any shed hair from worsening any mats or tangles the dog might have on his coat. He told us that shed hair usually mats on the dog's coat when it come into contact with water causing problems that could have been easily resolved by simply first brushing or combing the dog's coat especially in the case of breeds that have curly hair such as poodles. After a dog has been cleaned and completely dried the styling process can begin, however our Akron Ohio Dog Groomer mentioned that the coat needs to first be completely ready for styling. Depending on the breed there are techniques that are done such as hand fluff drying that fluffs and lifts the coats or straightens it, which then makes it easy for the professional dog groomers to work with. He mentioned that in the case of a dog such as a poodle, not bathing or fluff drying the coat correctly will cause there to be small spots of curls which will not allow the Akron Ohio Dog Groomer to do his or her job properly. In breeds such as poodles it is very important that they first get bathed and brushed correctly so as to prepare their coat in order for the stylist to be able to literally "sculpt" the coat.
