How to make a good dog cookie recipe? Well, not to sure really but here are some ideas. Anybody else with tasty treats?

Mix all ingredients well. Roll out on a floured board about 1/2" thick. Cut out cookie shapes with floured cutters.
Bake at 350F for 25-30 minutes. Cool, maybe leaving them in the oven to dry. Cookies should be hard. Store in an airtight container.
Ingredients

* 1/2 cup powdered milk
* 1 egg, well beaten
* 2 1/2 cups flour
* 1/2 tsp garlic salt
* 1 1/2 tsp brown sugar
* 1/2 cup water
* 6 tblsp gravy
* Baby food meat

In a large bowl, dissolve bouillon in hot water. Cool to room temperature. Add remaining ingredients. Knead for three minutes or until dough forms a ball.
Roll dough until 1/2" thick; cut into dog bone shapes. Bake on lightly greased cookie sheet for 30 minutes at 350.
Ingredients

* 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
* 1/2 cup nonfat powdered milk
* 1 tsp. sugar (or less)
* 1 tsp. salt (or less)
* 1 egg
* 1 tsp. beef or chicken bouillon granules
* 1/2 cup hot water

1. Place ingredients in bread machine according to manufacturer's directions.
2. Press"dough" cycle or mix and kneed like any other dough.
3. Prepare cookie sheets by greasing and sprinkling with corn meal.
4. When machine beeps, remove dough to lightly floured countertop and with a rolling pin roll dough out to 1/4 inch thickness.
5. Using dog bone cookie cutter (or any other favorite shape), cup out dog biscuits.
6. Place on prepared cookie sheet.
7. Re-roll scraps and repeat till all dough is used up.
8. Place in warm location and let rise for 30 minutes.
9. Bake at 325 degrees F for 30 minutes, until brown and no longer soft.
10. Place on rack to cool and store in an airtight container.

Bread Machine Dog Biscuits Recipe
You may add grated carrots to these for extra nutrition and flavor. These are a great way to control the fat and salt in your dogs diet.
3/4 cup beef stock (chicken or veggie work too)
1 egg
3 tablespoons oil
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup whole-wheat flour
1/3 cup bulgur wheat or 7 grain cereal
1/3 cup natural bran
1/4 cup dry milk
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 1/2 teaspoons yeast

There is also a great book with lots of tips and ideas on how to cook healthy foods for your dog... it's called The Everything Cooking for Dogs Book by Lisa Fortunato. It has 150 quick and healthy recipes.
