destructive puppy

Toilet training (or potty training) is the process of training a young puppy to use the "toilet" ie: not use your house for urination and defecation, weaning him.

my puppy is intent on destroying my books on the book case & my collection of disney tapes. i have moved all of these items higher than she has shown me she can jump. however she still manages to tear them down. & destroy anything that has plastic or paper. & it always whenever i'm not home. i'm at a loss as to how she manages to get up there & how do i make her stop?
sincerely

Your puppy is just that; a puppy. They will get into mischief. The safest thing to do is crate train your puppy. This will she will not get into anything while your gone and if she is not potty trained yet, it will aid in the training.

Crate train for your dogs safety and your peace of mind.

I would have to differ with some of what is there. You should not put a blanket or pillow in the crate as if they should urinate, the blanket will absorbe it & they don't think the are messing their den, so they continue to do it.

Also, while a puppy should not be left for more than an hour or so depending on age, an adult dog is just fine with being in a crate for 8 hours while the owners work provided of course, it was walked before & immediately after they are crated.
