Dog keeps digging..

While puppies will normally chew on objects much more than grown up dogs, they still may eat or chew anything when you're not around. And they also DIGG!

Dog keeps digging..

We have 1 1/2 acres and two girl dogs, and our son just moved back in and has a male dog, but our border collie girl keeps digging holes everywhere, some are like trenches, and under the fence and now the other dogs are starting, we have such a large property we can't watch them all the time, is there something we can spray to make them stop digging under the gates and fence area?

Sounds like they are mainly digging along the fences and near gates, yes? Then they are trying to communicate something. Perhaps animals on the other side, kids teasing them, a desire to really run.......etc. Hard to tell. I have been lucky in this respect, my girls don't dig.....Hopefully someone with a digger can be more helpful here!!

Steve, your dog has severe separation anxiety and that is the base for all of these problems. Once that has been dealt with, much of these behaviors will stop.... Check the topics for that as I know we have a couple that are written for it..you may get to a point where the vet can medicate the dog to help get over the hump so to speak but you really need to focus on training here big time. The dog is frustrated and insecure....Get into classes and get on the path of a lot of training for this dog and then consider some type of "sport" such as Flyball, Frisbee, Rally, etc. The dog has so much energy and needs to be worked off....
