How to Better Communicate with Your Dog
There are certain organizations that dedicate themselves to strengthening bonds between humans and animals and they give a lot of information about the relevance of dogs in our lives. Several studies have shown how the communication with a dog can lower a person's blood pressure, and even extend the life span of an older person that is alone. Dogs can also enhance the growth of children and it has been seen how much they can help autistic children, disabled people, as well as blind and deaf people. These wonderful societies have dedicated their work to training dogs for blind and deaf people as well as many other types of assistance. Therapy dogs have done wonders for people that are going through difficult illnesses, to people that have to remain in hospitals, mental institutions, and even in prisons and jails.
There are also branches that offer help to dog owners that have aids. This service teaches and helps the owners to maintain their dogs by offering services such as having other people walk their dogs, feed them etc. They also take care of the dogs when the owners have to go out for the day etc. There is a lot to be said about how important dogs are in our everyday lives.
In theory the relationship between dog and man should be easier for man. Dogs in general have very few demands, obviously without leaving out their obvious basic needs. The way a dog handles itself is not the same a human would therefore choosing a dog to share your life with should be relatively easy and satisfying. The first step though to understanding your dogs is to know how their minds work; this alone will help the owner tremendously. A dog's intelligence level is said to be that of a five-year-old child. If you have children of your own you are aware that a child at this age has full capability of organizing and taking care of his or her duties, by this age children can also play very complex video games that require of a lot of physical and mental and skills.
Obviously we cannot compare a child to a dog, children are humans and dogs aren't. When a dog talks or tries to tell us something, we don't always understand, this doesn't mean though that the dog is to blame, to the contrary, we are the ones to blame. This just shows us how important it is for us to learn the basic canine language.
Some experts believe that, after the most evolved primates and the pig, which is becoming smarter everyday, dogs, are by far the most intelligent animals on the face of the earth. We have but only to look at the jobs that dogs are able to do, seeing this makes it easy for us to see the level of intelligence that they definitely have. It's also very possible that we have only detected their capabilities on the surface. Society has given dogs many different types of jobs, and dogs are able to resolve these according to their capabilities with a tremendous amount of talent and ingenuity. An example of these incredible abilities are working dogs that have been able to locate and find lost people that are buried in disasters, in avalanches etc. Because of their incredible ability to smell, dogs are also used to distinguish odors like cocaine, heroine, marihuana and other illegal substances, all of which helps in the fight against drugs. These kinds of abilities have also been seen by dogs detecting dangers of fires or how the fire started.
