Dominant Aggressiveness Amongst Dogs

The two most common forms of aggressiveness amongst dogs are:

• Intersexual aggressiveness in between two male dogs (50% of the time castration is the solution).
• Dominant aggressiveness (in between two dogs that live together). Generally this starts when the younger dog reaches adulthood or when the dominant animal starts getting old. Often, the owner of the dogs will be present at the moment of the fights because the dogs will be fighting to see who gets to be closer to their master.

It is important to highlight that the relations of dominance are normal in a social organization. The owner always has to favor the dominant dog and put the other one to a side. Sometimes, castration can work (or the administration of progesterone) on the younger dog.
