Dachsbracke Dog The blood relationship of the Dachsbracke or badger pointer with the dachshund is evident: the person not initiated could easily confuse it with a heavier and coarser version with longer legs than the smooth-haired Dachshund. In its country of origin it is used to track and locate the prey with smell (especially in a hard and abrupt land, where its slow and deliberate way to advance while smelling the track is very useful).
