The blood relationship of the Dachsbracke or badger pointer with the dachshund is evident: the person not initiated could easily confuse it with a heavier and coarser version with longer legs than the smooth-haired Dachshund. In its country of origin it is used to track and locate the prey with smell (especially in a hard and abrupt land, where its slow and deliberate way to advance while smelling the track is very useful). There are some varieties of color: black with cinnamon patches different tones of cinnamon or white with cinnamon patches. The height at withers is 32 to 42 cm. |
