When to start Weaning

I

mentioned how when the puppies start teething, least he can actually cause damage to the mother's breasts and, the mother in turn, might refuse them. Therefore this is the precise moment in which you should consider weaning the puppies. This should start around the 21st and 24th day after birth. Taking advantage of the mother's absence, you can offer the little puppies a bowl with pap mixed with motherly milk. After a couple of days, the puppies will have gotten used to eating the pap and to drinking fresh water.

My personal advice is to place one bowl for each individual puppy so that you can make sure that each one eats exactly the amount that they need.

From the 28th day on, the puppies can already go eating a little more solid food (like in small lumps and not pap) , obviously soaked in warm water in order to make digestion easier.

In any case, when the puppies is definitely stop nursing, is important to eat the right amount according to their age, weight and sex. Basically, follow the instructions on the packaging.
