Stabyhoun Dog Breed

Stabyhoun Dog Breed

Holland

The Stayhoun is one the less seen pointing dogs. Its aspect is modest, but its facility to learn things is acknowledged and it is a very nice house dog. Its origin is not very clear, but it is evident that there are strong ties with other Holland pointing dogs.

The Stayhoun has a square constitution and it is not too elegant and it should not weigh too much. The roan black specimens must have dark eyes and the other varieties must have lighter eyes but in any case they must be yellow. It has a long tail and good frayed edges, the lower third is curved up. The hair is long and straight and it does not have curls.

The color is roan usually with black, blue, brown and orange patches. The height at withers must not exceed 50 cm in males; a few centimeters less in females.
