Short-haired Austrian Griffon Dog Breed

Short-haired Austrian Griffon
Dog Breed

Austria

The short-haired Austrian griffon is a "young" breed and its type and size is not yet determined for example, its height may vary a bit more than the miniature pinscher up to approximately one inch more than the Pinscher.

Various positions are allowed regarding the details to take the ears (fallen, pricked or as "rose"), but half-stiff ears are taken as a triumph. The tail is cut or taken a bit higher than the loin (in which case it should have thick frayed edge). The fur is always short but it is not necessary that it is completely smooth.

The color is usually fawn, golden, reddish like a deer or even black and cinnamon (often with multiple colored marks). White marks on the snout, neck, chest and feet are very common and are accepted. The size varies between 33 and 48.5 cm.
