e interested in getting a Rottweiler. He asked us a lot of questions such as if we had ever owned a dog before, to which we answered we hadn't. Well, to make a long story short he didn't give us the dog in the end. Obviously we were very offended about this at first but he did give us a lot of information on Rottweilers and explained to us some interesting things about Rottweilers and how in our case it would not be appropriate to have one. We would still love to have a Rottweiler one day but if we have to wait, this is what we will do. We were surprised that the San Jose California Dog Breeder actually turned us down and did not simply take the money we were offering him. It made us see that his interest was actually not money but that his Rottweiler got the right type of living situation. We learned that this dog is great for people looking for an excellent guard dog. This is a dog that is always ready to respond to anything it views as a threat to its owner or family. This strong energetic dog needs to receive good firm training at the hands of a professional in order to bring out to the fore all of its good qualities. In our case we do not have the time to dedicate to this type of training and one other thing is that we have other pets in our house and we found out that Rottweilers don't always get along so well with other pets. The San Jose California Dog Breeder had male Rottweilers and told us that males are not recommended for first time dog owners.
